Utilization of Thermophilic Aerobic Oxidation and Electrocoagulation to Improve Fertilizer Quality from Mixed Manure Influent

Thermophilic aeration and electrochemical reactions are well-established methods for wastewater treatment to reduce metallic content, organic inorganic matter, turbidity, coloration, nutrient levels. In this study, thermophilic aerobic oxidation (TAO) electrocoagulation (EC) were implemented together improve the quality of liquid fertilizer by reducing load toxicity swine manure. The influent in study was prepared mixing anaerobic digestate manure at a 1:9 ratio treating it 3 days 50–60 °C field-scale TAO system. effluent then processed an EC reactor 180 min with 30 V electric supply through two sets iron aluminum hybrid electrodes. combined processes led germination index 133% using final efflux. high retention important nutrients such as total nitrogen potassium, 100% reduction heavy metals, over 60% trace minerals, 89% pollutants product, helped achieve higher index.
